Studio Work

A tactile collection of form, texture, and dimension.

Stripped, an exhibition at the Walker Fine Art Gallery in 2024, featured Theresa Clowes’s oil paintings, which were a visual feast of color, movement, and texture. Created in collaboration with the Rocky Mountain Land Library (now known as Habitat Library), the work explored how historical and cultural data shape our relationship with water. In each landscape oil painting, Clowes distilled information about the world’s predicament of having too much and not enough water at the same time, addressing global warming and our environmental impact while highlighting the joy of thinking about possibilities.
